What is Homeopathic Medicine?

Trigger the body’s innate healing mechanisms to restore body function.

Homeopathy is one of the most gentle and non-evasive forms of healing. The practice of homeopathy respects the fact that every person is unique and therefore manifests disease in different ways. Homeopathic remedies stimulate the body’s healing process to resolve the imbalance and return the organism to health. Homeopathic medicines act deeply to cure on all levels ─ physical, mental and emotional.

Types of Remedies

Homeopathic medicines are derived from a variety of plants, animal materials and minerals. Over 2000 naturally occurring remedies exist to date. These medicines are prescribed to fit your individual’s needs. Homeopathic remedies are administered in much smaller, less toxic doses than traditional medications and are used for prevention and treatment. They can also be used in combination with many naturopathic and pharmaceutical medications without any side effects or adverse interactions.
The process of making a remedy renders the substances in very safe, yet powerful forms to treat people of all ages and conditions – including babies, children, pregnant women and the elderly.

How is a Homeopathic Remedy Chosen?

As unique individuals, our symptoms manifest themselves in unique forms. The choice of the most suitable homeopathic remedy depends on the careful evaluation of symptoms, both physical and mental/emotional. For any one ailment Dr. Lee may consider a wide range of homeopathic remedies, depending on the individual case.

Analogy of How Homeopathy Works

Imagine your health as a journey from point A to point B. At some point on this journey you’re struck by an illness, which is represented as a detour off the path from point A to point B. For many people the journey towards health begins with finding the shortest route back to the path leading form point A to point B.

The health continuum

POINT A

POINT B

The path of illness

Homeopathic remedies can stimulate (or direct) the body’s healing mechanisms to move towards the correct route to point B. Although, this analogy oversimplifies the situation, it still serves as a good basis for explaining the homeopathic approach.

It is important to provide the body with the correct “map” to get it back on path. The map or remedy that we give to the body’s healing mechanism must be exact. If the wrong map/remedy is given the body will continue of course. In order to determine an exact map, it is essential that each patient be approached as a unique individual with unique needs and symptoms.

Lastly, the simpler the directions the easier it will be for the body to respond quickly in its journey towards optimal health.
