What is Physical Medicine?

Holistically aligning the body to restore physical and mental balance.

Naturopathic doctors are trained in a variety of hands-on techniques for the spine, joints and soft tissues. This is known as naturopathic manipulative therapy. Naturopathic body work takes a whole-person approach to healing by acknowledging the inter-connections of mind, body and spirit. It is an effective form of treatment for a wide range of illnesses by helping to create the optimal conditions for health, encouraging vitality and facilitating a sense of well-being. Physical medicine can effectively treat acute or chronic conditions and it is suitable for people of all ages, including babies, children and the elderly.

Worms will not eat living wood where the vital sap is flowing.

The Difference Between Scar Tissue And Muscle Tissue

Think of fibrous tissue like duct tape. If you have a tear in your tent and it’s raining outside you need to fix that leak immediately so you use the duct tape to seal the tear. The duct tape itself is not visually pleasing and it does not move the same way as the fabric that the tent is made from — it is thicker and moves with greater difficult, but it does provide a quick fast water tight seal. Similarly, when the skeletal muscles in the body become injured, scar tissue (the duct tape) is laid down to protect the muscle. Repeated injury or chronic strain can result in adhesions and additional scar tissue leading to chronic muscle stiffness and pain.
